This website is dedicated to providing accurate, free and helpful information for those people who want to know more about doing psychometric tests and assessments.

It has been written by a psychologist who has used psychometric assessments on a daily basis for over 15 years.

There are free practice items and sample tests, as well as explanations of why the tests are designed the way they are and how to do your best.

The two main types of psychometric assessments are:Taking a test online

  • Ability Tests and Aptitude Tests
  • Personality Profiles or Questionnaires

Ability tests are typically timed tests that try to measure a specific ability or raw talent, such as numerical reasoning ability.

Personality profiles are designed to measure a person’s personality preferences and therefore likely behaviours. Personality assessments are usually untimed assessments.

Why use Psychometric Assessments?

  • Psychometric assessments are often used by organisations to assist in the selection and development of employees.
  • The reason assessments are valuable is that they can uncover information that is not easily found by other methods.
  • For instance, assessments are good at uncovering if a person has the potential to do a job they have not yet had any experience in.
  • Well designed psychometric assessments are objective and accurate predictors of individual behaviour and preferences.
